Most of our windows are in! Yipee!
Of course, we have two windows that need to be re-ordered (on the front of the house, no less). We have one that was ordered wrong - we really don't want grids in our bedroom window. And we are hoping that the two bedroom windows can be installed sooner rather than later.
I'm so excited!
The funny thing is that when we ordered them, they were the cheapest option that we seriously looked into. I didn't want to spend $8000 on windows if we weren't going to stay here for 10 years. But I didn't want to spend the $4500 that was Lowes initial quote - because I wanted something decent. So we decided on the Pella 350 series - Tim did A LOT of research on the different window options out there. These are what we liked the best - and they were in the middle. The installers said that they hadn't installed the Pella 350 yet - that everyone who was ordering windows ordered the cheaper windows. If we didn't have our tax refund and tim's trip money, we'd have been doing the same thing!
I haven't been impressed with the salesman. He has been a bit flaky. But the installers have been great and are really nice. They have done everything they said they will do.
I have some pictures of some of the old windows - but those will come when I'm not all comfy in bed and willing to go get my camera. Yes, I'm lazy. Soon there will be no more rust! no more cloudy windows! no more breezes!
We did the temperature thing again - in the bay window, we tested by the new window and the old window. There was betwen 5 and 10 degree difference. Oh, I can't wait to have them all in!
So glad you got your windows. They make a lot of difference and you will love them!
