Stuff

It has been a while since I posted.  We just don't have an exciting life - we work, work, work.  Nothing fun.

However, my brother and his wife and two kids came for a visit this last week.  And we were the lucky ones that they stayed with for a week.  And I really do mean lucky.  They moved to Missouri last year - so other than skype, this is the first we've seen them in a year.  My SIL came out on a Tuesday and spent a few days with her family (they had a wedding) - and when my brother got here on that Friday, they came to our house.  It. was. wonderful.

Now, my SIL and niece are allergic to animals - so Duke had to spend most of the time outside.  I worried and stewed about that - not because Duke had to spend time outside, but because I was worried that the allergies would be too much.  With the help of allergy pills, they made it though.  Thank goodness - because we brought Duke in at night and when they were gone - and I felt sooooooo guilty!  Duke was quite put out - he hardly ate, he would drop his head when we'd make him go outside, and he wouldn't want to go to our room when we brought him in.  It was way cute.  He wouldn't even eat his bone unless he could eat it in his usual place (which is at the bottom on the stairs) - I gave him a bone one night when we were in our room and he didn't touch it.  Poor poopsie - he has adjusted quite nicely to being indoors again =)

There was one day that wasn't so fun.  My SIL's birthday was on the 26th.  And they woke up with the flu - Scott, wife and daughter.  Then Tim and Ster came down with it.  Me and the nephew came away without a problem.  Thank goodness - someone had to be here to help the kids!  I felt so bad for them - getting sick on a vacation is never fun.

Unfortunately, the time came much to fast for them to leave.  I didn't think I'd have a hard time with it - but I was soooooo wrong.  I cried and cried.  I felt like they were moving all over again.  And it didn't help that my brother's girls came up one last time to say goodbye and they cried.  Which started me crying.  Okay, not that I wouldn't have cried anyway.

I guess I better get to bed.  I am trying to get to sleep on time to see if I can get some much needed rest.  I never go to bed ontime and then I'm exhausted the next day.

I'll see if I can remember to write about the excitement with our neighbor's behind us.
