So, if you've been reading my blog for awhile, you'd understand that I now have a passion for sewing. I love it! I love love love looking at quilting blogs - love the tutorials, love the quilts, love the colors, love the fabrics. I love modabakeshop.com because I love to print off the tutorials I think I'd make. If you look at my old blog (the one that is still private), I have all of my blogs that I stalk on there. And I just added a TON of quilting blogs there. That is what I do when I have a few minutes. Stalk and dream.
My problem is that I just don't have enough money or time to make the quilts I want. Good quality fabric can be expensive! Unless you buy the Christmas discounted fabric - which I did but now don't want to use the material because they are too cute to use - I'm looking at money I just don't have for fabric.
So I continue to dream. And make a list of those people I want to make quilts for. And keep visiting the fabric shops to drool over the material.
However, I did join a quilt block thingy. For $4 a month, I get material to make four 10 inch blocks, which are then sewn together. At the end of December, I'll have a twin size quilt top - unless I pay $3 per 10 inch block and make enough for a queen size top (which is what I'm going to do, I think). Anyway, here is my first set of blocks. I love the colors (I'm wayyyyy into red, white and blue fabrics).
I can't wait to finish it! Should have known - I am an impatient person sho doesn't like to wait! Now I can't finish this until the end of the year! But I'm way excited for it.
(Oh, I just saw the hand print on the fridge! The draw back to stainless steel appliances: fingerprints, handprints, smudge marks. That drives Tim and I crazy! Especially Tim - he'll clean it daily if he has to!)
I am so glad you entered my giveaway so I can visit your blog!! That is going to be a wonderful quilt!!
ReplyDeleteDoes Alysa still go to the quilt block of the month classes? I know I've heard her talk about them anyway. =) Looks great!
