I am not an optimistic person. I plan on the worst possible thing happening but hope it goes well. Don't want to be disappointed.
So, when our furnace started to act up last night I planned on the worst. Like having to replace the furnace today. Luckily we have a fireplace that can heat the house in case of problems. Like last night. I was up until 2 a.m. getting the house warm (for the life of me I CAN'T get a hot fire going like Tim can) so that I wouldn't worry all night about Ster getting cold. The house did warm up - but was at 69 degrees when we woke up. I'm cold all the time now, so that was wayyyyy to cold for me. A year ago that would have been fine. Not now.
So I called my boss and asked for the day off. I figure if it did get fixed, I'd be too cranky after only getting 4 hours of sleep. I need my sleep so I'm not cranky. And 4 hours = cranky mommy.
We were blessed. By 9:30 a.m. and $100 later and a clean sensor, the furnace was up and running and warming our home. Then I took a very short nap. Hopefully that helps because.....
tonight is Pack Night. The very first Pack Night that I'm in charge of. I'm not really looking forward to it. Me and a bunch of kids? It'll be interesting. Luckily, we don't have to be there that long!
